Work Christmas parties in Port Macquarie

Every workplace has someone who ends up organising the Christmas party, and this year that someone might be you. What you’re really after is a Christmas party venue in Port Macquarie that suits the whole team and keeps everyone entertained from the first drink to the last frame, without it turning into a month of back-and-forth emails.

Sam and I have been running The Bowl for more than 23 years, and our venue manager, Sue, looks after every Christmas request herself, so you’ll have one friendly person to deal with from your first message right through to the night. To help get everyone on board, download our Christmas venue guide and forward it to your team, so they can see the spaces, the activities and the food before you’ve even picked a date.

Hey! I’m Pinny. I’ll guide you through the booking form, then hand you over to Sue.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your night. Pinny guides you through a short booking form and works out an estimate as you go.
  2. Sue sends your quote. She replies with your final quote, nothing is paid online, and a deposit of $200 or 20% of the total, whichever is greater, confirms your date.
  3. Turn up and enjoy it. You’ll get the Christmas venue guide with menus, terms and a run-down of how the night will run.

See it before you book it

Here’s what your team walks into: glowing lanes and neon inside, and fairy lights on The Terrace once the sun goes down.

Christmas party venue spaces and capacity

Some of your team will want to bowl, some will want a round of electronic darts and a few will want to sing, and nobody has to sing unless they want to. Indoors we have 12 lanes of tenpin bowling, electronic darts, a private karaoke room and a cocktail bar, and outside, The Terrace has its own bar, gardens and fairy lights after dark.

There’s live music on The Terrace every Friday and Saturday night in the lead-up to Christmas, and if your party lands on one of those nights, the band is on us. Ask Sue about Thursdays if you need more choice.

Indoors we fit up to 150 guests and The Terrace fits up to 250.

Plan your Christmas party

Questions we get asked

How much does a Christmas party cost?

The form gives you an estimate as you go, based on your numbers and what you choose. Sue then sends the final quote.

How many people can you host?

Up to 150 indoors and up to 250 on The Terrace.

Can we have The Terrace to ourselves?

The Terrace is first come, first served, so if you want space kept for your group, ask for the Main Deck or the Pergola. There’s no hire fee for either one on its own. For the whole Terrace or the whole venue, Sue will work out a quote with you.

Are you open over Christmas?

We’re closed on 25 and 26 December.

What if our party is in the next week?

The form will ask for your name, mobile and email so Sue can get in touch straight away.

Can we bring our own food or drink?

You’re welcome to bring a cake. Outside food and drink isn’t allowed.

Is there a surcharge on Sundays?

Sundays carry a 10% surcharge on the whole booking, which is included in your final quote.

How do we pay?

Nothing is paid online. Once you accept your quote, a deposit of $200 or 20% of the total, whichever is greater, confirms your booking. Your deposit comes off your final bill.

When do we give our final numbers?

Your final numbers are locked in 7 days before your booking, and that’s the number of guests you’ll be charged for. You can bring the number down before then at no charge. If your numbers are going up after that, you’ll need to ask Sue first and we’ll do our best. If more guests turn up than your final numbers, you’ll be charged for the guests who attend.

What if a guest can’t make it on the night?

Their food and activity are still charged, because we’ve prepared and set aside their place.

Can smaller groups order platters?

Yes. Each platter feeds 10, so platters suit groups of 10 or more, whatever the size of your group.

Can you cater for dietary needs?

Let us know about any dietary needs early, and please tell our team about any allergies when you order.

How does the bar tab work?

You can set a tab for the group and top it up through the night, or everyone can buy their own drinks. Tell us what you’d like and we’ll set it up.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes. There is plenty of off-street parking, two accessible entry points from the car park, and every lane is level with the floor with ramps available. See our accessibility page for the full picture.

Where are you?

159 Hastings River Drive, about 3.6km from the Port Macquarie CBD. Get directions.
